The sample size was lower for total physical activity than for sport as men with incomplete data from the other domains were not assigned a score. Numbers of men with a valid physical activity score were 3347 at baseline, 3283 at the 12-year follow up, 3255 at the 16-year follow up and 3318 at the 20-year follow up
